BioJohann Sebastian Bach was a prolific composer of the Baroque era. He spent most of his life as an obscure church musician, teacher and choir director. Bach composed for all the musical genres of his time, except opera. His works include over 200 cantatas, as well as hundreds of pieces for organ, keyboard and stringed instruments. His instrument choices varied from solo unaccompanied violin to full baroque orchestra with choir and soloists.
