Fabrizio, I have a laptop with a Windows 11 Pro OS. That is the primary computer I would be using. I also might use my wife's Galazy Tab A tablet, depends on how I can set up my practice station. Thanks for your response. - Sidney

Thank you Sidney. Well, as I wrote below, you can always use the built-in interactive video here on VSM.

Otherwise, for your Windows-based PC, you can use any video player. You can download from the web and install it on your PC. Here is a list of the free ones:

Once you have installed the video program, you can download our video files on your computer and open them with that program. Please, let me know if you need any help with that.

I hope this helps!

I have been thinking about using the play along videos to learn some new pieces. Are there instructions online about how to use the mp3/mp4 files, or any other audio/visual files that can get me started?

Hello Sidney and thank you for your inquiry.

If you plan to use our play-along videos offered here on VSM, you can simply use our interactive video player, which works inside any browser or on any device connected to the Internet.

Otherwise, I could suggest several solutions if you want to use the files offline with a different program. If you could tell me your used system (PC, Mac, etc.) and device (computer, tablet, etc.), I'll be happy to give you more tips.

I look forward to hearing from you.

All the best,

Can you explain the difference between grace notes with a slash through the stem vs those without?
Thanks

Hi Hank and thank you for your inquiry.

Of course, I'll be happy to help.

The noted with a slash through as called "acciaccaturas" whereas the ones without slash are called "appoggiaturas."

The difference between them is that the former is usually played as an upbeat, whereas the latter is played on beat.

You can learn more about those and other ornaments in this video of ours:

I hope this helps!

Please, let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
