Video TranscriptionI was in Aspen after just getting out of the hospital in Ohio and was staying with Ms Delay. I decided to go to a chamber orchestra rehearsal to say hello and that’s when I ran into Perlman who looked at me as I too was on crutches and said “Hi Billy, what happened to you? Well welcome to the club! But you’re not a permanent member”. We laughed and then he took me behind the tent and started explaining to me all the things I needed to be aware of while on crutches. He must have talked to me for an hour or more. I couldn’t believe he took the time to explain these things to me. I will never forget that moment. I will always be impressed by his humanity.
