Franz Joseph Haydn was an Austrian composer and a key figure in the development of classical music. Often called the "Father of the Symphony" and the "Father of the String Quartet," he established the structural foundations for these forms. Serving as a pivotal bridge from the Baroque to the Classical era, his vast output includes 104 symphonies, chamber music, and choral compositions. Haydn's innovative style, marked by wit and expressive depth, profoundly influenced Mozart, Beethoven, and beyond, leaving an enduring legacy in the annals of Western classical music.
