BioWolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a child prodigy and prolific Austrian composer of the Classical era. He wrote his first piano sonata when he was four, his first symphony when he was eight, and his first opera when he was only 12 years old. During Mozart's short life, he composed over 600 works, including 41 symphonies, 27 piano concertos, and over 20 operas. He also wrote a whole host of serenades, divertimenti and dances, as well as many works for solo piano and chamber ensembles.
