BioFranz Schubert was a prolific Austrian composer who helped bridge the Classical and Romantic eras with his beautiful and expressive music. During his short life, he composed nearly 1,000 works, including some 600 songs, nine symphonies, several operas, a host of sacred choral music, as well as a large collection of chamber and solo piano music. He was only thirty-one when he died due to typhoid fever or possibly syphilis.
