Very much appreciate the free book. Just starting out and need all the help I can get. I’m studying daily. Information is easy to understand and answering questions I didn’t know how to ask. Hoping to gain enough knowledge to be ready to take a college level music class.

Hi Fabrizio, Re Basic Music Principles: this is a really nice little book. I appreciate it was free but ... it would have been good to have an English version! I know you have added some English terms, but in the main you have used American. It would have been so easy to change all the American terms to English ones - I could do it myself in ten minutes, but it's protected! When teaching, I would need to explain the two nomenclatures, and a new learner has enough to learn without also learning extra words and spellings! How about an English version? Regards, Gordon

Good point Gordon! Yes, I was thinking to revise and update this book in the coming weeks anyway, and of course, I like the idea to add English terms as well. Your feedback will be very welcome!

We'll be in touch via email about all this if you like. Please, let me know.

Thank you again for your kind words and your suggestion!

How can I learn how to play an organ and a cello?I like these instruments.
reply
Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on February 6, 2018 @8:29 am PST
Hi Humphrey and thank you for your question.

You can definitively learn to play both those instruments, but, mostly for the cello, I'd recommend finding a good teacher. Otherwise, YouTube can help with some basics, but without a teacher you risk to start with the "wrong foot" without even being aware of.

Please, let me know if you have any further questions.
Humphrey on February 8, 2018 @1:14 am PST
Thank you so much Fabrizio Ferrari you are such a talented person, but how do I find a teacher like you for the start.
Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on February 8, 2018 @7:48 am PST
Thank you Humphrey, I really appreciate your kind words.

Well, that depends by where you live, but as a general rule, to find good teachers, I'd get in touch with the nearest music school, conservatory or university where they have music classes, and ask. Yelp! or the Yellow Pages can help too, but be sure to find ratings online about potential teachers. Fortunately nowadays we have the web that can help a big deal in finding the right person.

Good luck!
