Hi Fabio,
The music was well edited and a welcome addition to the recorder repertoire. I think that for alto players, it would be a good idea to provide a edition transposed a third higher. The musical material is excellent set of pieces in different keys, which is ideal for improving instrumental technique, especially with octave displacement and thematic variation. Of course, the work is an important work of art in its own right - not just a series of exercises - which makes it even more rewarding to play.

These are lovely pieces for flute, but could also work well for violin, and even viola (transposed). Note--there are another distinct set of 12 Fantasias by Telemann, which are not these, they are for violin.

standard repertoire for flutes, but not easy by Tamatha * VSM MEMBER * on April 2017

These were written to show off the skill of the player. Only a few movements could be considered "easy" and this is "easy" in the sense of "playable, with practice, by someone who's been studying seriously for a few months." It's a great collection to have in your back pocket, because you can perform them on a moment's notice in almost any situation.

These 12 "Fantasias" are great. Not being an "accomplished" flute player these songs challenge my fingers while allowing me to concentrate on tone and style. Great buy.
