"This marvollous Impromptu - One of Chopin's Best Known works - isn't nearly as hard as other 5 Star - Rated difficult pieces. I can play the F.I, but I can't play Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto, which also has a five star difficulty!
Chopin actually disliked this piece, and instructed a student of his to dispose of it. He disliked it because he believed it plaguarised one of Beethoven's Motif's from his Moonlight Sonata, 3rd Movement. I think us pianists and listeners are gracoius that Fantaisie-Impromptu wasn't destroyed in the end!
The Hardest thing about learning this piece is to get the cross-rhythms spot on - this can be achieved by pratising the first and last note of every tripet with the left hand, and playing the right hand normally, Hands together.
It 'fits the hand' quite well so my advice is to go for it! You can learn this piece like I did, though it took me about 3 weeks hard practise to get it spot on!
