Ballade Op. 23 is the best! by Loraine on January 2007I absolutely love the Ballade Op. 23 in G minor better than the other 3 ballades. I first heard this piece from the movie The Pianist. That's where I fell in love with it. If you are a pianist yourself and you want to learn this piece, I recommend that you start from his preludes, waltzes, nocturnes, and polonaises before attempting to master this piece....that is, if you really want the full value of playing this piece. There are so many elements that must be executed in this piece such as dymanics, phrasing, fingering, note jumping, and of course speed, interpretation, and most importantly, passion. Watch the movie THE PIANIST if you are a Chopin lover...
My BEST Chopin piece! by Pa on September 2006I'm currently learning this piece. It's not hard to read but the dynamics and speed are challenging! Nevertheless, it is absolutely beautiful and totally worth all the practice. I have it on CD and I never get tired of listening to it, and I CAN'T WAIT to master it!
