Reviews about Canon in D and Gigue:

Rating: 3 Careless transcription by  * VSM MEMBER * on June 2019
This arrangement for cello and piano was just OK because the transcription is careless. It seems whatever music program/programmer is being used it/they are not capable of using dots, as in a dotted eighth or a dotted quarter note in 12/8 for three counts. That being said, I am advanced and know the pieces so it is easy to correct, but for others it may be a bit frustrating. Otherwise a capable arrangement.

Dear Patricia, thank you for your review and provided feedback.

Yes, this transcription was one of our earlier ones (almost 20 years old!) and was made with a pretty bad notational program with strong limitations, hence your reported issues.

We plan to republish it with any needed correction.

Please, feel always free to contact us with any questions or ideas you may have, we will be always glad to hear from you, at any time!

Thank you again.

I sincerely get that this is an older transcription and do appreciate the availability in a free format. If you are going to revisit this arrangement then you need to pay attention to measures 20, 23,30 in the cello part. Thanks again.

Thank you Patricia, of course, we'll make sure to fix your suggested bars as well.

Thank you again!
Rating: 5 Wonderful wedding arrangement by  * VSM MEMBER * on August 2018
Our orchestra plays some arrangements by Fabrizio Ferrari, your CEO and they are great. This arrangement is very playable. Personally I liked the higher cello line in the arrangement for 4 celli. But either are decent quality. I play cello with a good guitarist. We will sound GREAT at the wedding we are doing in a few hours. Well done FF

I couldn’t help “cyberstalk” you a second on the web. Are you also the “Fabrizio Ferrari” English theologian? I somewhat doubted it though, seeing your Wikipedia article was in Italian
Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on August 2018
No Bob, I am no theologian, just a musician with a passion for computers )

I know there are many people on the web with my same name.

Thank you again

Great
Rating: 3 Difficult by on May 2014
I only reviewed the first page. It turns out that the music is more difficult than I expected and probably won't use it.
Rating: 5 Great Piece! by on May 2013
Beautifully made for both instruments (cello &piano)
Rating: 3 Good option for an overused piece by on January 2009
As a cellist, it is fun to get the limelight in the Canon and have something interesting to do. It does take a bit of work to get the transcription smoothed out to where it flows under your fingers- a matter of fingering and phrasing. One initial problem I had is that the printed part varies in the amount of space which notes of the same value take up on the page. On one line the notes are condensed and on the next they are spread out, so it threw me off in site reading. I'd give this a better score if I weren't SO weary of Canon in D!
